When using a glass, a small glass with a round, smooth edge is good. Be sure it doesn't have any sharp edge.
You can also use a small bowl with a smooth edge. Put some expressed mil in the glass, cup or bowl. Place the baby with the head slightly raised on your lap. Now, place the edge of the bowl at the baby's lower lip and tilt till the level of milk reaches the lips of the baby. The baby will sense its presence and lap it up with a tongue.
When the level of the milk goes down, tilt some more. Initially, if given to a baby who has already had a bottle, the baby is more like to protest by flaying his arms. This might spill some milk so do make baby wear a bib before trying the first time. You can also ask someone to hold his arms.
You can also feed the baby with a small spoon. As the baby grows apart from breast milk, soups, juices, milk or any other liquid can be fed in the same way.
