2. Create a comfortable reading space for your child.
A proper study room should be there in the house where child can read peacefully without being distracted by the TV or other family members. Seating arrangements and lighting should be done accordingly.
3. Discuss books with your children.
Talk to your child about the books they are reading in school and the ones you have read to them. Show your child the movie versions of children's books. Some movie versions of children's books are terrible, so be sure and read the reviews first. Compare and contrast movie and book versions of the same story.
4. Get your child a library card.
You must take your child to library once or twice a week to let them borrow some books. Encourage them to look around and get the feel of the books. Help them in choosing the correct material to read depending on their age. Be sure and sign your children up for the library's summer reading program.
5. Gift books to your child.
Gift your child a book that you know will interest him/her. Find out the interest of your child and gift him/her a book they have not read before.
