Aggression is not uncommon anymore among children these days and it’s quite a point of concern for most parents. Kudos Kiddos brings to you some tips to help your child find better and right ways to express themselves in a more constructive way rather than losing control.

Parents need to find out either distracting ways to pull their kid out of aggression or a decent time out to convey to them that a breach of principles has been done. Aggression in kids is usually a stimulus to some cause, treating them and resolving what is troubling them is our responsibility.

Eliminate Frequent Triggers
Keep a tab on what irritates your child the most. If the aggression becomes frequent, try to figure out the triggering element. Whether its school or the day care, the play area or your domestic help, you may need to talk to them to find out and determine the possible causes.

Encourage Energy Consuming Extra-Curricular Activities
Idle kids tend to have more mind and energy to express negativity. Encourage high energy activities like cycling, trampoline jumping, running and the likes so when their energy is expended, little is left to behave aggressively.

Set a Time-Out
The child needs to understand that any act of hitting, punching, biting or spitting will be reprimanded in a way so he realizes a mistake has been committed. Time outs or end of play session, grounding for older kids is a silent and calm but firm way of bewaring them of their ruthless behaviour and it might just pave the way for reformation.

Talk Them Out or Distract Them Away
Maybe parents can modify the “time-out zone” and address it as a “cool-down spot” if it suits the aggression levels. The child can be sent to the cooling zone that also provides distraction and pacifies the mood.
Once calmer, parents can talk to their kid through the cause of anger and help tem resolve it. Simple calming exercises such as counting backwards or breathing deeply have proven calming effects on the mind.

Appreciate All Efforts of Avoided Aggression
Be appreciative of your child’s behaviour every time they’ve avoided getting furious over some matter or exchanging rude words or even blows. Hug him and compliment the thoughtful response.

A child’s behaviour is also affected by our behaviour at home. As parents, we must follow protocol when expressing anger or frustration so it shows the right way of expression for the kid also. Always remember our kids pick up our behaviour first.

Incase things feels out of and, never hesitate getting professional help. At the end of the day, our child's mental development is our prime responsibility and concern.
