Following are essential eating rules that stoke your fat burn all day long. Check out:
• Don’t Starve:
One needs to cut calories to lose weight. But going too low on calories delivers a double whammy to the metabolic system. When one eats less than what is required for the basic biological function, the body throws the brake on the metabolism. It also begins to breakdown precious, calorie-burning muscle tissue for energy. So, eat just enough so that you’re not hungry. This will keep your metabolism humming.
Breastfeeding burns up a lot of energy (kilojoules). A breastfeeding woman needs much more calories in her diet as compared to a woman who is expecting.
Include healthy snacks in your eating schedule that provides nutrients and energy, such as fresh fruits, yogurt, avocado, nuts and seeds; biscuits, whole grains, fresh vegetables, cereal with milk, sandwiches made with wholemeal bread filled with leafy greens and tuna, cheese or anything of your choice.
Though the official recommendation for adults ranges from 200 to 600 IU based on age, experts believe pregnant women and their babies can get the maximum benefit from 4,000 IU daily.
Co-author of the study, Dr Bruce Hollis, the director of pediatric nutritional sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston stated, "Pregnant women need to take 4,000 IU of vitamin D a day.
Lead researcher, Cria G. Perrine, Ph.D., Centers for Disease Control, division of nutrition, physical activity and obesity said, “Vitamin D receptors are present in almost every type of cell in the body. Most infants, starting at birth, will need a vitamin D supplement.”
“We have to educate moms and the health-care community that vitamin D supplementation is something that they should do (and) recommend,” added Perrine.
